Elisa Silva Ferreira

Graduated in Chemistry from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2014. She received her PhD in Physical Chemistry from UNICAMP in 2020. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the BioProducts Institute at the University of British Columbia, Canada, from 2021 to 2023. Her research focuses on the application of plant biomass in functional materials, especially in the form of nanostructured fibers. Her main goal is to explore cellulose as a sustainable alternative to non-renewable plastic materials. She has extensive experience in biomass fractioning and in the development of cellulose foams, papers, adhesives and films.
