Our open facilities feature corrected and energy-filtered cryomicroscopy equipment for biomolecule imaging and high-resolution analysis, a first in Latin America. The following equipment/tests are also available for external users: i) particle size and surface charge analyzer by dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering (MADLS/ELS); ii) particle size analyzer by differential centrifugation (DCS), iii) X-ray microtomography (MicroCT), iv) quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), v) elemental analysis by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), vi) darkfield hyperspectral optical microscopy (CytoViva,) and vi) Bioassays (Zebrafish).
We also provide facilities in the field of multifunctional renewable materials and hybrid materials (organic-inorganic) for biotechnological and agro-environmental applications, enabling laboratory-scale production and characterization of materials, particularly in pilot plants based on green chemistry criteria. As a result, we support the productive sector in creating more competitive and sustainable technologies, without impacting the environment and improving society’s quality of life.
To support innovation, we provide specialized services and technical-scientific support for projects with companies and industries:
- Projects and specialized services in electron cryomicroscopy applied to the study of proteins and viruses.
- Development of nanobiomaterials, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, and polymer nanocomposites.
- Integrated studies to assess the toxicity, safety, and risk of nanostructures, regulatory aspects, and environmental sustainability in both the national and international contexts.
