The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), jointly with the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), offers one postdoctoral position related to the simulation, fabrication, characterization, and application of 3D antennas based on nanomembranes for micro-wave communication.
About the Project
Implanted biomedical devices are witnessing great attention in finding solutions to complex medical conditions. Many challenges face the design of implantable biomedical devices, including designing and implanting antennas within hostile environment due to the surrounding tissues of human body. Implantable antennas must be compact in size, efficient, safe, and can effectively work within adequate medical frequency bands. In this research proposal, compact antennas for the microwave range (GHz) will be designed through numerical simulations, microfabricated using self-winding nanomembrane techniques and characterized in their radiation parameters and transmission efficiency.
Our group, involving experimentalists and theorists, master the design, fabrication, and characterization of micro- and nano-devices. We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to participate in the research involving the development of 3D antennas based on nanomembranes for micro-wave communication.
Key project aims
- Designed antennas with the support of numerical simulations (CST Studio and Comsol Multiphysics).
- Participate in the antennas micro- and nanofabrication.
- Perform the RF characterizations of the antennas.
Requirements and how to apply
Requirements include a Ph.D. degree in Physics or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Proficiency in English is required. Previous experience in the simulation and characterization of antennas is highly desirable. Experience in microfabrication and/or nanofabrication tools are also desired. Previous experience with the characterization of antennas is a must.
Candidates are invited to send a CV (PDF), including a brief description of research experience, by e-mail to carlos.bufon@Lnnano.cnpem.br.
Applications deadline: April 30th, 2021.
