Optical Microscopy

The Optical Microscopy facility counts with an Olympus BX51M Optical Microscope and software with specific tools for image analyses as volume fraction and grain size measurement, a Zeiss Observer Z1m and a Zeiss Lab.A1 microscope. In addition, the facility has a stereoscopic microscope (Olympus SZ61) and three hardness systems: Shimadzu HMV-2T E for semi-automatic indentation (Vickers), a fully automatic Leco LM-100AT for microhardness (Vickers) mapping, and a fully automatic Leco LMV-50V for micro and macrohardness (Vickers and Knoop) mapping.
