Samples for the Conventional Thermomechanical Simulator

The design choice for a test in the thermomechanical simulator Gleeble 3800 is highly dependent on the test requirements.

For each test, either compression, tensile, torsion, or other, there will be a specific specimen.

For tensile samples, it is important to take into consideration the cross section area to be studied and the force applied. It is important that the force applied is not less than 1 kN, as this directly affects on the equipment’s low power control capability.

In the case of tensile test, it is important to take into consideration that the central region of the sample will be the deformation region, thus the need to evaluate the amount of deformation desired.

WARNING: Do not machine the samples without speaking to the person in charge of the facility!!
