Institutional Visits Program to the laboratories of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM)
The Institutional Visits Program to the CNPEM has the objective of stimulating an interest into science and to promote the spread of scientific and technological information. The program is directed at a sector of the public formed by secondary school and university students and also professors and company representatives.
The visits schedule may include one, two, three or the four Institutions which are integrated in CNPEM – Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio), Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory (CTBE) and Brazilian Nanotechonology National Laboratory (LNNano).
In the visits, the campus installations and processes of scientific investigation will be presented to stimulate interaction between the visitors and the specialists who conduct the visits.

When the visits occur?
A. The visits always occur on Wednesdays
At what time do the visits occur?
A. The time for the visit (morning or afternoon) is chosen by the visitor depending on availability in the program agenda. The morning period begins at 0900 hours and the afternoon period at 1400 hours
What is the duration of the visit?
A. Each visit lasts around 1h30
How many people are necessary to form a group and what is the maximum amount of participants?
A. The ideal, is groups of 15 to 20 people, with a maximum of 40 people per visit.
To whom this program is aimed at?
A. Priority is given to groups of secondary school and university students, graduates or pos graduates. The program also provides for organized groups of people interested in knowing the CNPEM laboratories.
Any advice for the group prior to the visit day?
A. The names, ID s of all visitors should be sent at least two days prior the visit. Due to the distance between the 4 laboratories the use of comfortable shoes is recommended.
Is there a difference between business visits and visits of a scientific nature?
A.Yes. Business visits and visits of a scientific nature should be requested via email under the title – Special Visit – to email@example.com.
